trend: colored jeans
this year, color has been very popular. which brings us to colored jeans. instead of the regular blue jeans, colored jeans has been one of the many popular trends this year. i like the fact that they can be worn with anything, and yet you look vibrant. if you're looking to step out of your comfort zone and you want to try something new for a change, colored jeans are the way to go.

it has been about 5 months since John Galliano's outburst happened, which lead him to lose throne as the creative director for Dior. now that the fashion house has been missing a creative director for the past few months, they've been looking around for someone to take over. Marc Jacobs is rumored to be one of the candidates to be the new creative director for Dior. although Marc Jacobs is also the creative director for Louis Vuitton, LVMH, the luxury cooperation that owns the Christian Dior and Louis Vuitton labels, approached Marc to take the job. as far as i'm concerned, this will pretty much be a fresh start for Dior, because John Galliano established the look for Dior since 1996. Galliano, was known for his extravagant, haute couture designs while Marc on the other hand, has more of a ready-to-wear sort of style. it's going to be a major change. otherwise, i guess we'll just have to wait and see...

trend: glitter
now that fall and winter are right around the corner, i'm sure we're now thinking of what trends are going to be in during the season. so, over the next few weeks, i'll be posting what trends are popular for fall and winter. today, i came across these amazing glitter tennis shoes by Miu Miu from their F/W 2011/12 collection. i really like these shoes, they are marvelous. personally, my favorite ones are the ones on the first picture, i love the gold.

so... today, Lady Gaga was spotted in L.A. leaving a recording studio actually looking normal. obviously, i'm a fan of Gaga, but to be honest, her outfits in the past year have been quiet over the top. i understand that she's very much into fashion and she embraces haute couture dresses, but sometimes she goes a little bit overboard. that's just my opinion. personally, i loved her best during The Fame Era, when she wore her hairbow, leotards, 80's retro jackets, vintage Gianni Versace sunglasses (i would die for those vintage Versace sunglasses in the picture to the right), and the list goes on. ha, it's funny because that's when we thought she dressed weird. anyway... back to what i was talking about. Gaga was leaving a recording studio today dressed in a beautiful Donatella Versace dress from her F/W 2011 collection. it's almost as if she's trying to look like Donatella herself. i mean, the last time she looked this normal was way back in 2009 when she was getting into the music scene. i hope she dresses like this more often, she looks very classy and elegant. i like it.
one thing i do love is her admiration for Gianni Versace, who also happens to be one of my favorite designers of all time, anyone else notice that she's been wearing a lot of vintage clothing by the legendary fashion designer within the last few months?

one of my favorite things right now is nail art. i just think that nail art is so cool and it's a great way to be unique and different. sometimes regular nail polish can be dull and boring, since everyone wears it. not that there's anything wrong with regular nail polish, as long as it's a striking color, and it's done well, then you're all good. there's nothing tackier than horribly done nails and bad color choice. i don't know about you, but one of my pet peeves, when it comes to nails is when people wear nail polish without at least filing their nails to make them look neat and nice. especially when the nails are polished badly, by that i mean when nail polish is all over the place, and the color is just... blah! otherwise, when your doing your own nails, which i do all the time, make sure to place your hands in warm water for about 10min and FILE THEM! it's important! unless you're a professional nail artist who can create designs on your nails, i would suggest getting the Sally Hansen Salon Effect Nail Polish Strips. although, i haven't tried them myself, the product seems to be having great reviews. so if you're interested in nail art, i recommend the Sally Hansen strips. i'm also planning on getting them, and if i do, i'll probably let you know what i think of them.
